Summary: Length: 35 kms, Total descent: 1300m. In contrast to the previous day this is an easy one where all the previous days hard work pays off ...and some.
Starting from our lodge, the first part of the ride is on steamy rain-forest singletrack partly created and maintained by Bali Trailblazers, and takes us around the back of the crater lakes; Buyan and Tamblingan. The trail is reasonably flat with a little sting in the tail as we climb onto the crater rim and cruise down the road to lunch at another restaurant with great food, excellent coffee and stunning views down to the north coast.
After lunch we continue down a very windy tarmac road, turning off onto a small track which leads to an impressive waterfall. After gaping upwards, we continue on a particularly fruity and spicy piece of singletrack, riding past clove, coffee, cocoa, papaya, avocado and banana trees, to name a few. The descent continues on a mixture of singletrack and small tarmac roads that will definitely put a smile on your face: Length 35 km’s, Total descent: 1300m. This is a fairly easy day and ends with a 2 hour transit to Ubud, where you will spend the next two nights in a traditional Balinese Home-stay (complete with swimming pool and en-suite)
