Bedugul and the central volcanoes

This is the wettest part of the Island, and because of this has the best rainforest trails on the Island. Three of the trails detailed below include great rainforest trails, some of which are still being completed! Bali Trailblazers are working in conjunction with the Bali Cycling Federation to maintain and create new trails in this area.

To the south of the Bedugul region, the steeper forested slopes give way to rice paddies, coconut and bamboo groves which are dotted with numerous villages and linked by broken tarmac and red-mud trails which usually make for easy riding.

To the north the slopes are dominated by clove and coffee plantations, where the red-mud and tarmac trails tend to be steeper. For those who like an uphill challenge, try the Pujungan to lake Buyan trail. This trail can be adapted and lengthened to include a descent to the north coast - but be warned, it's not all downhill. Only for frequent/regular mountain-bikers.
